Huma Durrani was born in Toronto, and moved to Mississauga when she was six. She spent her childhood in Mississauga with her parents and younger sister. She studied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, where she also took courses in Visual Arts and Art History.
Her love of Islamic art was developed through courses in the History of Architecture and by getting to see the beauty of Islamic art up close and personal in her travels to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Spain, France and Turkey. After working for the provincial government for 7 years and dedicating time to her family, Huma is now pursuing her love of art by studying and working on her art full time.
